About Not My Prime Minister

“Not My Prime Minister” is a non-partisan group of people who have come together to raise awareness about the policies of Stephen Harper’s Conservatives during the 2008 Federal Election and beyond. The group’s main focus is to highlight the policies of the Harper administration, carried out with a minority government, which we believe have been destructive to communities across Canada and the environment we live in.

Too often in politics, particularly around the time of elections, we focus on the personalities of the politicians rather than the real-life decisions that they make. Most political leaders hope that the public will forget about the unpopular decisions they have made over their past term and vote them in on attractive promises and bold, optimistic visions.

We hope to bring a little dose of reality to the 2008 election debate by clearly laying out the decisions and agenda of a party we believe stands far more for the interests of big business and their friends in the Bush regime than they do mainstream Canadians. From the Americanization of Canadian policy, to the lack of decisive action on climate change, Stephen Harper is leading Canadians down a dangerous and short-sighted path.

But don’t take our word for it, read the record of the Harper Conservatives for yourself, illustrated extensively on this website and the dozens of articles linked to it. If you feel compelled to act once you have read the evidence, this site is filled with resources on how you can take action at the ballot box and beyond. Please share these resources with your friends and more importantly, talk about the issues and inform others.
