DAY OF ACTION: Demand a Canadian Energy Strategy on February 2, 2008

Canadians experience long, cold winter months. As the snow starts to fly, our thoughts turn to staying warm. To do that, we need energy to heat our homes. But right now, Canada does not have a national energy strategy that addresses where our energy comes from, where it is going, or the high price of environmental devastation that can come with producing it.

That is why the Council of Canadians is organizing Take Charge! A National Day of Action to Demand a Canadian Energy Strategy on Saturday, February 2, 2008

http://www.canadians.org/energy/action/index.html

We are asking each recipient of this email to print 5 copies of the handbill found through the above website, cut each sheet in half  and distribute copies to 5 houses on each side of your dwelling.  Please also encourage your friends/neighbours to follow up with a letter/e-mail to Prime Minister Harper based on the information found on the handbills.

Also take a photo of yourself with one mitten and attach it to the e-mail or letter to provide a visual about how our government, without a National Energy Policy, is like leaving Canadians out in the cold with only one mitten.

If all of us can donate an hour of your time, we can be effective in influencing our government!

Thank you for your support!
