Rally for the environment along the Albert Street Bridge, Regina, the dividing line between Palliser and Wascana ridings.
Info: A diverse group of Regina residents who are concerned about the
environment are gathering for a rally Wednesday October 8. We're
calling the rally Vote Environment! We would love to have you come out
and join us. We are not promoting any parties or candidates; we just
want to encourage residents to vote for the candidates and parties that
have the most to offer in terms of protecting the environment. We want
to promote positive change for the environment, one vote at a time.
The rally is being held from 4:30-5:30 on the Albert Street bridge,
which runs between the Palliser and Regina Wascana electoral zones.
We
have 35 signs that say "This election, I'm voting for real action on
climate change." The signs are free and you are welcome to take them
home with you to display on your lawn or in your window. Let us know if
you'd like to reserve a sign, or feel free to bring your own. If you'd
like to volunteer with any details, please let us know.
We are
hoping at least 100 demonstrators show up. There will be a media
release going out the day prior to the election, in hopes we get some
good coverage. The rally technically will run from 4:30 to 5:30, but
we'd like people to be there by 4:15 to make sure we're all organized
before the media (hopefully) show up.
Please feel free to invite anyone or any group you think would be interested in joining us.
