Tuesday, March 16

The Story of Fair Trade. Coffee Talk with Stacey Toews, of Level Ground Trading.

Ten Thousand Villages (45th St. location) - SASKATOON

3:00-5:00pm

Stacey is a dynamic and motivational speaker who has a real passion for the difference Fair Trade makes at so many levels; to the producer, consumer and buyer.  Stacey will present a variety of topics on the Issue of Fair Trade, how it impacts people in developing nations and discuss how we have a voice by our ethical consumer choices.  Stacey will have an I-roaster and be roasting green beans on site.

Stacey will also be hosted by STM at the University of Saskatchewan, during their Social Change and Global Solidarity Class.  This open to the public opportunity will be held on March 16th, from 6:30 – 8:00pm in Arts 133.  At both sessions, we will have sampling of Fair Trade Coffee as well as an opportunity to win a Fair Trade Coffee Basket.  Admission, for either session is FREE!!

It is our hope that Stacey may be heard by many youths, young adults and by the general public during his stay in Saskatoon. It is OUR DREAM that SASKATOON may some day be the FIRST CITY of the PRAIRIES to be FAIR TRADE. This may in fact be the FIRST STEP towards that goal.
