Join us for an evening of good food and delicious conversation.

The Politics of Health (click here for the facebook event)
a Briarpatch fundraiser and issue launch, featuring Ryan Meili
@ Selam Restaurant, 2115 Broad St.
Tuesday, Sept. 21
6-9pm

cost: $25
includes: Selam's famous buffet supper (tantalizing Ethiopian lentil, meat and vegetable dishes as well as dessert), and a lecture and discussion on the politics of health with physician and activist Ryan Meili.

Let Selam's dynamic dishes titillate your taste buds while Meili enlivens your mind with thought-provoking analysis of  income and health disparities in our province and country.

Ryan Meili is a politically active Saskatoon-based physician. He has worked in rural Mozambique, inner-city Saskatoon and in communities throughout rural Saskatchewan. He is currently working on a book on the role that social determinants of health could play in reshaping our political discourse, and an article on the same topic appears in the Sept/Oct issue of Briarpatch Magazine (which will be out within the next week).

Tickets available at:
Eat Healthy Foods (3030 12th Ave.);
Briarpatch (2138 McIntyre St., 2nd floor);
or from Briarpatch board members

All proceeds go toward Briarpatch Magazine in its constant pursuit for real, honest media.
