The Regina 2007 police budget is now available on ActUp. The proposal includes 24 additional front-line officers in the community services division, including two officers dedicated to combatting child sexual exploitation. Much of this is funded by a $449,000 in community policing and anti-child exploitation grants from the province. The feds will tip in $100,000 for drug policing. The service requested an additional $875,200 from the City in 2007, saying this would amount to a two per cent increase. The city appears to have complied in its annual budget, although the city's number-crunchers report the same $875,200 as a 3.7 per cent increase.
