“I will never – not ever – give the SaskParty a chance
because the Devine years remain entrenched within the SaskParty. And Brad
Wall's connection is deep!” writes Bernadette Wagner, regular ActUp contributor
and CBC Blog Squad member. Her blog posting ‘Give
the Sask Party a Chance: Ha-ha-haaaa!’ contains the fine details of those
connections, from Wall’s tenure with the Mulroney Conservatives to his various
postings within the Devine government.
Meanwhile blogger Joe Kuchta of Owls and Roosters has been busy
outing Sask Party candidate Nancy Hepner, who recently stated “There are no
ties between the Saskatchewan Party and the Conservative government.” Kuchta
points out that Hepner left her job as Prime Minister Harper’s communications
strategist to run for the Sask Party, and that four federal MPs have made
donations to the Sask Party.
John Murney’s
Blog contains useful profiles of each constituency, to help you with your
election pools. It may take a pool to keep your interest keen: “No wonder
Canadians outside of our province are not interested in our election campaign -
where is the sizzle? Where are the memorable speeches? Where is the
beef?” writes Murney.
Some of the sizzle is going on over in Larry Hubich’s Blog, where the SFL
president recently had to lay down the law about overheated comments on the
site. Hubich’s blog came to prominence when his publishing on election
contributions raised some attention in the mainstream media – especially when
the Regina Leader-Post was named as a Sask Party contributor. Trolling for controversy, Giant Political Mouse’s
latest posting accuses the Sask Party website of copyright violation. Not quite
as exciting as the NDP’s recent crack house accusations, but what the heck!
