More than 70 monks marched in the central Burmese town of Pakokku a few hours ago, according to Mizzima News. Eyewitnesses report that 73 monks left one of the local monasteries and headed east, chanting the Metta Sutra as they went. "They headed to Shwegu Pagoda and chanted the Metta Sutta at the pagoda," reported one eye witness, who requested anonymity for fear of reprisal. As of 9:00 a.m. Saskatchwan time there were no reports of reaction from the regime. Also this morning, comedian Par Par Lay - one of the famed 'Moustache Brothers' - was released from prison, along with seven opposition political leaders.
