Ever thought of something that was different and dropped it because you might be looked at as being weird? Many of those ideas are what has transformed the world we see today.

Plastic is just converted petroleum or fossil fuels anyway, isn't it?  Well asphalt is just petroleum mixed in with sand and gravel, right?  Why can't you just take that plastic from our garbage and put it into asphalt?
At age 15, Gina Gallant designed a new type of asphalt made from recycled plastic bottles.  Gina came up with her idea for "soda-pop pavement" when she and her family were riding through a place called Cash Creek near their hometown of Prince George, British Columbia. The local landfill was overflowing so badly, the family started calling the place "Trash Creek."
Gina knew that 1/3 of the material in landfills is plastic and isn't being used in asphalt. So she worked at the Husky Oil refinery for a couple of months, and there she developed her new asphalt, which she named "PolyAggreRoad." Plans are underway to use the new blend to pave roads this summer.
Today, Gina is going to university on a four year scholarship provided by a local company.

Got a solution to a problem?  Take action today.  Be different, live different, buy different.
