The newest addition to Saskatchewan's growing alternative media family was welcomed into the world on Friday night. Promising 'news with bite,' Sasquatch's pages prove that journalism has a life outside of failing media monopolies. Indepth reporting on the housing crisis and nuclear power were featured in the first print edition. The launch party, held at Regina's Sask Film Pool Co-Op featured live music, a deejay and tables groaning with snacks. It's been reported a genuine Sasquatch crashed through the party at midnight. This reporter was home in bed by then, but I did capture photographic proof of actual local new stories, something that has become nearly as rare in Canada.
Sasquatch's independent journalism relies on its readers, so consider donating and subscribing. The online edition lives at http://www.sasquatchnews.com/.
