Canadian Mining Company Charged with Assault and Gang Rape PDF Print E-mail

In Guatemala, HMI Nickel, a subsidiary of Canadian mining company Hudbay Minerals,  along with Hudbay Minerals were named in a lawsuit put forward by 11 women.  They have alleged that they were assaulted and gang raped by security and police forces near the HMI Nickel site during armed evictions of local residents from the village of El Estor, Guatemala.
